Otford Christmas Fayre - Saturday 23rd November 2024
11:00am - 4:00pm

Important Update
22nd November

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for tomorrow is extremely unfavourable, with Storm Bert set to hit the UK.  Despite these challenging conditions, we are committed to ensuring the Otford Christmas Fayre goes ahead.  However, for everyone’s safety, we have decided to implement “Plan B”.

The forecast is predicting rain and wind speeds of over 40 mph, making it unsafe to set up gazebos on the High Street or any other outdoor locations. To ensure the safety of all participants and attendees, we have taken precautionary measures by relocating the entire event indoors.

Please do come along if you can, and support the village and the many local small businesses who would be delighted to see you. You’ll find many fantastic stalls in the Memorial Hall, The Lutyens Hall (the smaller building at the entrance to the main carpark) and in the Jubilee Room inside the Parish Council building. The hugely popular children’s entertainer Captain Fantastic will be performing in the Club Room in the Memorial Hall at 12 noon, 1pm and 2pm and the Sevenoaks Players will be performing songs from their upcoming Christmas Cabaret at 11:15am, 12:30 and 2:00pm. There will also be teas, cakes and other refreshments in the Players Hall and the Scouts will be selling delicious German sausages and pretzels in the carpark alongside the Tipple Tin who will be selling mulled wine.
Otford Library will be open from 10:00am to 2:00pm with lots of fun activities for children and the Methodist Church have a bouncy castle.

We are determined to make this event special despite the weather trying to hinder our plans.  Your support and enthusiasm will help make the 2024 Otford Christmas Fayre a memorable occasion for all.

We hope to see you there!

Welcome to our annual Christmas Market in the Church and Church Centre.  Enjoy a hot cuppa, bacon buttie and cakes before browsing a range of gifts and goodies.  Lots of fun children’s activities too!  Our doors are open 10:30am – 2pm so there’s plenty of time to visit whilst enjoying the Otford Christmas Fayre around the village.

The HiStory Troupe (Alistair & Sue) will be in the Hope Room at the Memorial Hall with some of their puppets, including the globetrotting Dorothy Furkins, Secretary of St Peter’s in the Water Puppet Primary School to let folks know about their free downloadable app for Advent (That Advent Puppet Calendar).

Do come and chat to Dorothy and other members of staff.  They may even let the ‘Puppet Man’ say hello!

All are welcome to come along to the Otford Methodist Church hall between 12 noon and 3pm to  find out what’s going on for families. There will also be a bouncy castle for the children!
