  • Otford – Neufchatel-Hardelot Twinning Association Annual General Meeting

    19:00 to 21:00
Having celebrated over 10 years of our Twinning relationship with Neufchatel-Hardelot, with car sharing weekends and day visits by coach, we would now like to encourage the next generation of Orfordians to enjoy what we are enjoying.  Hardelot is a perfect venue for beach holidays – windsurfing, sandsailing, walking along the beach and sand dues, throught the woods, cycling, golf, pétanque – ideal for adults and children.

Our next Social Gathering in Otford is at the Woodman on Monday 8th April at 7pm.  Do join us.  All are welcome.

  • Otford Society Annual General Meeting

    19:00 to 21:00

All Otford Society Registered Members are invited to our Annual General Meeting at 7pm on Tuesday April 30th in Otford Village Memorial Hall Players Hall. The meeting will include refreshments and an exciting talk by Kevin Froming of Otford & District Archaeological Group entitled “A Villa Full of Secrets” about the Roman Villa Excavations in Church Field.  Come and find out about the fascinating history of our ancient village!

If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to pay your membership subscription for 2024, we are asking everyone to consider doing this by standing order before the meeting which reduces our volunteers’ administration work.  If you pay by standing order it’s only £5 per person for a whole year of membership.   If you prefer just to pay by bank transfer, that’s fine and the membership fee is £7.50 per person.  Members will get free entry to the Village Fete and other benefits at selected village events!  Remember that all Society profits go to support good causes in the village and to protect the village from inappropriate development or other threats.  The bank details for payment of membership fees are:

    • Account name: The Otford Society
    • Sort Code 30-98-97
    • Account Number 83442563

Come and have your say about the issues that concern you, and hear our plans for the year ahead.

    ART COMPETITION

This year we are asking schoolchildren to think about what our friendship means and what we have adopted from the French and their culture and produce a design that we can use to complement our theme “The French Connection” at the Otford Village Fete in May.  Details of how to enter the competition can be found here and you can download the entry form here.
