MAY 2026 - PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF LAND
SOUTH OF SIDNEY GARDENS, OTFORD
In May 2026, Catesby Estates announced proposals for a development of 110 homes and public open space on a 21.5-acre Green Belt site south of Sidney Gardens in Otford.
In response, local residents have organised a petition that continues to receive strong support. Many additional signatures were collected at a meeting hosted by The Otford Society on 27 May 2026 at Otford Village Memorial Hall, attended by 42 residents from the Bubblestone Estate area.

This proposal comes in addition to the thousands of new homes already planned under the Sevenoaks District Local Plan.

The Otford Society has submitted its response to Sevenoaks District Council’s Emerging Local Plan Public Consultation. We objected in the strongest terms to building thousands of new houses on our local Green Belt.

THANK YOU to everyone who responded to our Village Survey. 92% of respondents were against the largest development. You can read the full results of the survey here.
As we move forward, what we do know is that we are likely to need in excess of £100,000 to effectively fight the developers. We know that money is tight at this time of year, but please donate to the Village Protection Fund if you can.
